Description
In this volume Emanuel Pfoh and Lukasz Niesiolowski-Spanò present a survey of critical approaches to biblical scholarship and the archaeology of Israel/Palestine.
Divided into three main thematic parts of archaeology, history and biblical studies, and politics, ideology and other historiographical issues, these topics relate to issues of identity and heritage in the modern Southern Levant. From community archaeology and antiquities laws in the Levant, to Persian kings, the history of the Samaritans, the changing landscape of Israeli archaeology and the politics of academia, these essays are key to understanding many aspects of the current situation in Israel and Palestine, both in relation to ancient history, heritage and identity and to modern reception.
