Caroline McCaffrey-Howarth is an art and design historian specialising in European decorative arts, material culture and the histories of collecting. She is Senior Lecturer in History of Art c.1650-1900 and Director of Global Premodern Art MSc at the University of Edinburgh, UK. She was previously Curator of Ceramics and Glass at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Curator of The Chitra Collection. She is author of Lady Charlotte Schreiber, Extraordinary Art Collector (2025)
