Dallas G. Denery is Professor of History and Chair of the History Department at Bowdoin College, USA. He is the author of The Devil Wins: A History of Lying from the Garden of Eden to the Enlightenment (2015) and Seeing and Being Seen in the Late Medieval World: Optics, Theology and Religious Life (2005).
