Description
This book is a novel guide to the Freudian underpinnings of man-made global warming and its consequences. It offers the reader fresh conceptual paradigms with which to approach ecocide, as well as a nuanced approach to (re)reading Freud.
Each entry invokes a different concept from Freud's oeuvre (including castration anxiety, life and death instincts, civilization and destruction, and the “hyperfetish”) to grapple with the death of the planet. The individual pieces are tied together by a forceful representation of ecocide and the unconscious.
